Hilltop Nursery School is happy to offer a fun, safe and exciting place for children residing in the Manchester Township School System. Children up to 13 years of age attending any of the following school’s, who live in Manchester, qualify for our program: Manchester Middle school, Manchester Township Elementary School (MTES), Ridgeway Elementary School, Ambassador Christian Academy, St. Joseph’s Grade School, and the Preschool Handicapped program at Whiting, MTES, and Ridgeway Elementary Schools.
If your child attends Hilltop’s AM care program, they will have the opportunity to socialize and play with their peers while waiting for transportation to the public school. Our staff makes an effort to provide the children with a positive start to their day. A friendly greeting awaits you early in the morning, as early as 6:30 AM. The school-age children have a good time playing with board games, playing cards, and with their friends and teachers.
Children coming off the bus at Hilltop in the afternoons have more time to play, interact, get exercise, and do school work. We will supply the children with an afternoon snack and drink. Starting in September 2010, all children enrolled in the after school program will have free recreational swim time. Not only will the children enjoy it, but it will give them the opportunity to exercise even on rainy days. When weather permits, the children will play outside on our expansive playgrounds. We also provides opportunities for organized sports and games, dancing lessons, homework time, and inside play.
The students enrolled in our “Before & After School” program are also invited to stay at Hilltop all day when public schools are closed for a small fee. This is great for working parents who aren’t able to take multiple days off due to school closings or cancelations.
Commonly Asked Questions:
Q: I want to put my child on the bus in the morning at my home, and then have them taken to Hilltop in the afternoon, is this ok?
- A: It is both Manchester Transportation and Hilltop’s policy that every child has only ONE bus stop, and this bus stop is Hilltop Nursery School. This helps our staff and public school staff prevent any confusion as to where a child should be dropped off or picked up. Your child’s safety is our most important concern.
Q: My child attends a Toms River Public School, can they attend Hilltop’s Before & After School program?
- A: Children attending Toms River School’s are welcome at our Before & After School program. HOWEVER, the Toms River Schools will NOT provide transportation to our facility.
Q: Will you tutor my child after school?
- A: Our staff members will do their best to help children with questions on their school work. They will answer brief questions and/or clarify directions. Because our staff members must care for a small group of children at once, no one-on-one tutoring is provided to ensure proper supervision of all students in attendance. It is important to mention that we do not force children to do their homework here at Hilltop, even though the opportunity to do so is provided.
Q: What happens if there is a delayed opening/early dismissal?
- A: Hilltop staff members will adjust their schedule to accommodate children during delayed openings and/or early dismissals. The extra time the children attend will be billed at a nominal fee.
